FAMU's Brittney Johnson selected for NCAA's Pathway Program
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida A&M Athletics Deputy Athletics Director, Senior Woman Administrator & Chief Integrity Officer, Brittney Johnson has been selected as one of 22 college athletics administrators across all three divisions as a cohort participant for the 2025-26 Pathway Program, a yearlong initiative designed to prepare senior-level athletics administrators for their next career step as directors of athletics or conference commissioners.
"I am deeply honored to be selected for the NCAA Pathway Program," Johnson said. "This opportunity will further refine my leadership capabilities and prepare me for my next step in my collegiate administrative career."
Not a stranger to NCAA Development Programs, Johnson is a former participant of the Effective Facilitation Workshop and a graduate of the prestigious Charles Whitcomb Leadership Institute.
"These programs have significantly influenced the trajectory of my professional career in ways I not have anticipated, and I am confident that Pathways will have transformative impact as well." Johnson goes on to say.
The Pathway Program, under the direction of NCAA leadership development, is an intensive, experiential learning opportunity for selected participants who work at an NCAA school or conference in Divisions I, II or III. During the year, the participants will be paired with and have regularly scheduled meetings with a campus or conference mentor. The mentors include directors of athletics, conference commissioners and school presidents, along with others in leadership roles.
The 2025-26 cohort will meet June 22-27 for a week-long education session in Indianapolis. Participants will return in the fall for more programming and to observe their divisions' respective governance meetings. The program will conclude in the summer of 2026 at the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics conference in Las Vegas.
Johnson is a seasoned administrator with 15 years of athletic experience; she joined Florida A&M University in January 2023 as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Senior Woman Administrator. She has also held leadership roles at South Alabama, Prairie View A&M University and Alabama A&M, where she focused on student-athlete development, academic success and NCAA compliance. She is active on the national, conference, and institutional levels, serving on numerous committees.
