Florida A&M University Announces Campus Visits for Presidential Finalists

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida A&M University (FAMU) is pleased to announce the campus visit schedule for the University’s presidential search finalists. From May 12 to May 15, 2025, four distinguished candidates will engage with the FAMU community through a series of interviews, meetings, and public events.

FAMU Board of Trustees Chair Kristin Harper thanked the presidential search committee for their service.

"This is a pivotal moment for Florida A&M University, and bringing the finalists to campus provides an invaluable opportunity for our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members to engage directly with the candidates. We encourage our entire University community to participate and look forward to vibrant discussions and insights that will help shape the future of FAMU," said Harper.

Each finalist will spend a full day on campus meeting with key stakeholders, including the Board of Trustees, senior leadership, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and broader community members. In addition to formal interviews, the schedule includes campus tours, a luncheon with university leaders and students, and a meet-and-greet session open to alumni and community members. All sessions, except lunches and tours, will be in-person and live-streamed for broader accessibility.

The daily schedule is as follows:

9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

Board of Trustees Interviews

10:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.

Meet with the Senior Leadership Team

11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Meet with Faculty and Staff

12:45 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.

Lunch with the Senior Leadership Team, Deans, and students

2:00 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.

Campus Tours

3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Meet with FAMU Students

5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Finalist Meet and Greet with Alumni and the Community

The candidates and their respective visit dates are:

  • May 12, 2025 — Rondall Allen, Pharm.D. 
  • May 13, 2025 — Gerald Hector, CPA
  • May 14, 2025 — Marva Johnson, J.D.
  • May 15, 2025 — Donald Palm, Ph.D.

Following on-campus meetings, the Board of Trustees will select the next president of Florida A&M University, subject to an interview and confirmation by the Board of Governors.
