Rattlers Unveil 2025 Volleyball Schedule
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida A&M Rattlers have released its 2025 volleyball schedule, featuring a balanced mix of non-conference tournaments and Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) showdowns.
The season kicks off at home on Sunday, August 24 at 1 p.m., when FAMU hosts West Florida in an exhibition contest.
The team will then head to Hampton, Virginia to play in the Hampton Tournament. FAMU will face East Carolina on Friday, August 29 at 10 a.m. and then Hampton at 6 p.m., followed by a match against Maryland Eastern Shore at noon on Saturday, August 30.
Next, the Rattlers travel to Atlanta for the Georgia State Tournament on Friday, September 5, facing Evansville at 11 a.m. and Georgia State at 6:30 p.m., followed by Queens College at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 6.
Florida A&M then hosts its own FAMU Invitational at home: McNeese State visits on Thursday, September 11 at 3:30 p.m., and Georgia State returns on Saturday, September 13 at noon.
The Jacksonville Tournament follows in Jacksonville, Fla., with match-ups against West Virginia on Thursday, September 18 at 3:30 p.m., Jacksonville State on Friday, September 19 at 3:30 p.m., and Jacksonville University on Saturday, September 20 at 3:30 p.m.
Opening conference play, the Rattlers host Jackson State at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 26, and Mississippi Valley State at 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 28.
The road games begin in Montgomery, Ala. on Friday, October 3, at Alabama State, which is slated for 7 p.m. followed by Alabama A&M in Huntsville, Ala., at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 5, and Bethune-Cookman in Daytona Beach at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8.
FAMU continues its SWAC schedule with away matches at Southern in Baton Rouge on Sunday, October 12 at 2 p.m., and Alcorn State in Lorman, Miss., on Monday, October 13 at 7 p.m.
Back at home, the Rattlers welcome Texas Southern on Sunday, October 19 at 1 p.m., and Prairie View A&M on Monday, October 20 at 6 p.m.
Late October sees the team travel to Pine Bluff, Ark. and will play Arkansas–Pine Bluff on Sunday, October 26 at 1 p.m. and Grambling State in Grambling, La., on Monday, October 27 at 4 p.m.
Conference home stand concludes with Alabama State on Friday, October 31 at 6 p.m., Alabama A&M on Sunday, November 2 at noon, and Bethune-Cookman on Friday, November 7 at 7 p.m.
The season wraps with road matches in Itta Bena, Miss. at Mississippi Valley State on Friday, November 14 at 7 p.m., and in Jackson, Miss. at Jackson State on Sunday, November 16 at 1 p.m.
FAMU hosts the SWAC Tournament from Friday, November 21 through Sunday, November 23.
