Florida A&M University Army ROTC Celebrates a Decade of Leadership and Legacy at 10th Annual Conference and Military Ball

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida A&M University (FAMU) Army ROTC program hosted its 10th Annual Leadership Conference marking a decade of excellence in developing future Army officers and strengthening professional networks within the Rattler Battalion.
“The FAMU Army ROTC 10th Leadership Conference is a testament to our dedication to developing strong, disciplined, and service-driven leaders. Through thoughtful discussion and mentorship, this conference prepares cadets to embody a standard of excellence–second to none,” said Cadet and Battalion Executive Officer Jonique Rankine.
The milestone event, which took place at the Perry Paige Auditorium, brought together cadets, military personnel, alumni, and distinguished guests for two days of leadership development, networking, and discussions on the evolving landscape of military service.

Since its inception, the FAMU Army ROTC Leadership Conference has played a crucial role in shaping the next generation of military leaders, equipping them with the skills necessary to serve with distinction. This year’s event is a powerful testament to the program’s legacy, highlighting 10 years of commitment to excellence, discipline, and service.
“The Alumni Leadership Conference connects past and future generations, giving our Rattler Battalion Cadets invaluable mentorship, wisdom, and a deep sense of tradition. Through shared experiences, alumni inspire and equip cadets to lead with confidence, integrity, and purpose. More than just a leadership event, this conference strengthens the bond between generations, ensuring the continued success of our battalion and the Army,” Master Sergeant and Senior Military Instructor Nathan Miller.
Attendees engaged in interactive sessions, mentorship opportunities, and networking events, further amplifying the reach and impact of the program. Event highlights included Panels on Career Development and Financial Literacy, a Leadership Legacy Scholarship Presentation by FAMU Army ROTC alumni, a Speed Networking Session, and a Military Ball & Ceremony at the Grand Ballroom.
