Florida A&M Rolls Past Alabama A&M 15-5
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. --The Florida A&M Rattlers took a 2-1 lead in the first inning and never surrendered the advantage on the way to a 15-5 victory against the Alabama A&M Bulldogs on Senior Day.
Freshman Jay Campbell (2-0) started on the mound and picked up the win. The right-hander went four innings, giving up five runs, all of them earned, on seven hits, allowing no walks and striking out three. Sophomore Carson Kelly also made an impact on the mound for the Rattlers, throwing two shutout innings while allowing one hit, with one walk and one strikeout.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rattlers scored in six different innings on the way to victory. Florida A&M broke a 1-1 tie and took the lead for good at 2-1 in the first inning The big hits for the Rattlers in the inning were a two-run double off the bat of freshman Matthew Perez and a two-run triple from Campbell.
