Florida A&M University kicked off Black History Month by traveling West to recruit the best and brightest scholars at the Black College Expo in Los Angeles.More than 20,000 prospective students attend the annual recruitment fair to discover the importance and value of historically black colleges and universities.

Florida A&M University administrators, Kendall D. Jones, associate vice president, facilities, planning, construction, and safety, and William Hudson, Jr., Ph.D., vice president of student affairs, discuss the new residence halls that are under construction and in design phase as part of the university’s strategic plan. Venom Landing, a 700-bed residence hall, will be open in Fall 2025. It will help replace rooms that were moved offline from the razing of Truth, Gibbs, McGuinn, Diamond and Wheatley Halls. Also, a 500-bed residence hall, which will replace the former Paddyfoote Residence Hall, is currently in the design phase.
