“We are honored to host the Arise And Shine Coding Bootcamp and Summit at Florida
A&M University this summer,” said Beard. “This initiative not only aligns with our
mission to support student success and innovation, but also empowers the next generation
of leaders in tech. We look forward to welcoming these bright young minds to our campus
to support and uplift their tech journey.”
Participants will begin their journey with an engaging virtual kickoff event, featuring inspirational speakers, hands-on coding workshops, and invaluable networking experiences. The program focuses on Swift programming language, providing students with a solid foundation in iOS app development, design thinking, and other STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) disciplines.
The bootcamp concludes with a two-day, in-person summit at FAMU, where students will showcase their projects, network with peers and professionals, and receive a $1,000 scholarship along with other gifts to support their academic and personal journeys. Applications are now open through April 25, 2025.
Williams said the Arise And Shine Foundation is committed to personal and professional growth through collaboration, mentorship, and education.
“FAMU is a phenomenal setting for our second annual bootcamp,” said Williams. “We’re excited to partner to make this year’s program an incredibly impactful and dynamic experience by helping young women see themselves as leaders, creators, and innovators in the digital world.”
The Arise And Shine Coding Bootcamp is open to eligible students currently enrolled in accredited HBCU institutions. No prior coding experience is required—just curiosity, creativity, and a passion for learning.
