Florida A&M Blanks Jackson State 2-0 and Claim Series Win

JACKSON, Miss. -- Florida A&M blanked Jackson State 2-0 on Saturday to clinch the series win over the defending SWAC champions.

Zoryana Hughes (7-6) went the distance for Florida A&M (15-17, 11-4 SWAC), giving up five hits, walking none and striking out one.

At the plate, the Rattlers were paced by junior Keeleigh Spooner, who went 1-for-3 on the day with a home run and two RBI. Seniot Duggins furnished a noteworthy performance at the plate as well, going 2-for-3 with a double.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Rattlers took the lead for good in the fifth, scoring for the first and only time in the inning. Florida A&M plated two runs when Spooner left the yard with junior Neriah Lee aboard.
